Melodicism and classical stylings converge in the brooding soundscapes of Portland-based trio Sheers. Frontwoman Lily Breshears, a classical harpist, and pianist combines catchy choruses and honest lyrics with tension-laden composition, creating a distinct sound closest to trip-hop. Immediate gratification is not to be expected, as Breshears strives for catharsis being well deserved. Jazz drummer Daniel Rossi provides foundational grooves for Sheers with touches of off-kilter accents, and multi-instrumentalist Aaron Stern adds heavy bass and atmospheric textures.

"Quantized" is the first Sheers single in 2017, to be followed later this summer with another single and an EP. To stream "Quantized," please visit: https://soundcloud.com/sheers/quantized/s-zdCbR

TESLA EX MACHINA is an energetic theatrical biography featuring live electrical science. In 1892, the famed inventor Nikola Tesla awoke with partial amnesia. Using his incredible willpower, he pieced his life back, memory by memory. Ricky Coates examines science and humanity through a virtuosic one-man performance, featuring demonstrations of a tesla coil, direct and indirect currents, and robotics. TESLA EX MACHINA is a touching exploration of memory, family, and what it means to be human in an age of technology.
